BeskrivelseJob descriptionPosition as Postdoctoral Research Fellow available at the Department of Mathematics.  No one can be appointed for more than one Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Oslo.Starting date no later than April 1, 2024.The appointment is a fulltime position and is for a period of two years.The postdoctoral fellowship is part of the project QOMBINE – “Mathematics for quantum computation and manybody theory”, and the goal is to apply operator-algebraic techniques to problems in quantum information theory related to quantum entanglement, quantum Shannon theory and nonlocality. QOMBINE is a Large-scale Interdisciplinary Research project which is part of the Fellesløft IV programme of the Research Council of Norway. It is therefore among the largest funded researcher projects in Norway.For more information on the QOMBINE project, see the project web page https://www.mn.uio.no/math/english/research/projects/qombine/index.htmlAt the Department of Mathematics, the candidate will be affiliated with the Operator Algebra group in Section 6 and be part of its vibrant and inclusive environment.  Working on a true interdisciplinary project, the successful candidate will interact with other researchers on the QOMBINE project, e.g., with members at the Department of Physics.The main purpose of a postdoctoral fellowship is to provide the candidates with enhanced skills to pursue a scientific top position within or beyond academia. Doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date.
