A primary focus will be on, e.g., development of thin ceramic membranes with high Na-ion conductivities and superior stability in wet environments and against Na metal anodes. Identification of alloy forming interlayers and charging protocols allowing homogeneous and dense deposition of Na on bare current collectors (anode-free design). Applying anti-biofouling concepts to design to design cathodes optimized for the Fjords of Norway with improved kinetics and reduced ability to fouling. Despite the advanced electrochemical characterization, the successful candidate will use a wide spectrum of characterization tools, such as Plasma FIB SEM, TOF-SIMS, TEM, etc.Required selection criteriaYou must have a professionally relevant background in materials science, materials chemistry, solid-state chemistry, or solid-state physics Your education must correspond to a five-year Norwegian degree program, where 120 credits are obtained at master's levelYou must have a strong academic background from your previous studies and an average grade from the master's degree program, or equivalent education, which is equal to B or better compared with NTNU's grading scale.
