Do you want to get a PhD in an emerging field that will impact the future? Would you like to work in an international multidisciplinary team of 11 PhD students? Join us at TOPOCOM!TOPOCOM is a network of leading European groups from different disciplines and sectors selected to provide comprehensive training on the integrative concepts underlying the science of topological solitons in ferroic materials and their application in unconventional computing. To realize their potential, the consortium comprises some of the best groups in materials synthesis, device development, characterization and modelling. We will explore soliton properties, model and study their dynamical responses to external stimuli, and design and fabricate devices, where solitons carry out ultralow-power computing and sensing functions. The individual project descriptions and details of how to apply can be found on the TOPOCOM website: topocom.eu. Generally, candidates can apply for up to three positions, indicating this in the cover letter. What TOPOCOM will offerA thorough scientific education in the frame of a doctoral training program. The possibility to participate in specific international courses, workshops and conferences.A strong involvement in a European research project with high international visibility. The possibility to perform research visits to internationally renowned research labs in Europe.A prestigious three-year MSCA Fellowship.A competitive salary including mobility and family allowances. For full details, including descriptions of the individual research projects, see the TOPOCOM website: https://topocom.euRequirementsResearch Fields:PhysicsElectrical and Electronic EngineeringMaterials SciencesNanosciencesApplied MathematicsComputer ScienceEducation Level:Master Degree or other qualifying degreeSpecific Requirements: Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date (i.e., the start of employment).PhD Rule: Applicants must be doctoral candidates, i.e., not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment.Additionally, PhD applicants must fulfil the local requirements of the recruiting beneficiary institutions.
