BeskrivelseAbout the positionWe currently have a vacant 50% temporary position as Senior Adviser at the Department of Informatics. The position is open until 31.12.2025 with possibilities for extension. The position is externally funded. Starting date as soon as possible.The position is opened to strengthen the portfolio of EU projects managed by the SIRIUS Research Laboratory, especially related to the European Green Deal and the associated the Twin Transition strategy. The SIRIUS Research Laboratory is an initiative set up by the Department of Informatics back to back with the closing of the SIRIUS SFI Centre in November 2023. Its purpose is to provide continuity of the research activities in the SIRIUS SFI and to preserve and extend its professional network, both to industry and to the international research community. SIRIUS Research Laboratory is from the start funded by a portfolio of projects following research grants from the European Commission, the Research Council of Norway, and the University of Oslo. We seek an experienced research leader with extensive project experience and an impressive international network, both academically and to industries relevant for calls that are part of the Twin Transition strategy. Of special relevance are the calls within manufacturing, since this is the area of the European project that SIRIUS Laboratories are currently part of. The person employed is expected to be able to relate to the scientific content of the projects in addition to management tasks and to be able to participate in project meetings as part of a professional working group.Work tasks include:Taking initiatives to expand the Academic and Industrial network of UiO on the defined strategic areas of interestInitiate international collaborations and contribute to EU and Norwegian initiatives for the funding of the defined strategic research topicsParticipation in board meetingsInitiation of new proposals and proposal writingFollowing up of existing projects Portfolio managementProject management, especially related to the project management and partnersThe appointee will be part of the management team of the SIRIUS Research Laboratory and is expected to contribute to the team achieving the following:More proposals submitted for funding by European and Norwegian funding schemesHigh success rate of submitted proposalsImproved network to the European Commission in relation to calls for proposals funded by its Twin Transition strategy Enlarged network to teams that are active in submitting EU proposalsSmooth project executionQualification requirementsThe position requires:Formal education at the level of Master’s degree or higher.
