The positionIn Acoustics & Noise Engineering, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding people's hearing, and design systems that leave zero impact on both individuals and the environment. Your work directly supports Equinor's commitment to safety and environmental responsibility. As a graduate in Acoustics & Noise Engineering, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our projects through your expertise in acoustics. Tasks within Acoustics & Noise Engineering may be: Conducting noise and vibration assessments for various oil and gas facilities, such as offshore platforms, refineries, and pipelines, to identify potential noise sources and their impact on the environment and personnel. Designing and implementing noise control measures and engineering solutions to mitigate and minimize noise emissions and vibration levels, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Performing acoustic modelling and simulations using specialized software to predict noise propagation, assess noise exposure levels, and optimize the design of equipment and structures. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate acoustics engineering principles into the design and operation of facilities, considering factors such as noise control, structural dynamics, and human factors. Conducting field measurements and monitoring to verify the effectiveness of noise control measures and evaluate compliance with noise regulations. Contributing to the development and implementation of innovative technologies and practices for noise reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainability in the oil and gas industry. Participating in research and development projects to advance the field of acoustics engineering, explore new methodologies, and address emerging challenges in noise and vibration management. We are looking for graduates who have a passion for acoustics and its application in the energy industry. Your analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail will be essential in identifying and addressing noise and vibration issues. Collaboration and effective communication are key, as you will work closely with both multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. A strong academic background in Acoustics Engineering or a related field, along with a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends, are qualities we value in our ideal candidates. For this position, we are also looking for: Master’s degree or PhD with good academic record within Acoustics, Physics, Robotics, Signal Processing, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Process technology, Industrial economy, Subsea Technology, Automation, and other related technical disciplines.Completed degree by the year of starting (2024).Fluent in English.No more than two years of relevant fulltime work experience.Formal experience is not a requirement.Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work is an advantage.Your personal qualities: Ability to live by our safety and security expectations.
