To strengthen our footprint in hydropower, we recently acquired Rainpower, a leading player within the Hydropower industry renowned for quality products such as Kvaerner Turbines and Hymatek Controls. Close to 200 Hydropower employees have joined the Aker Solutions family already and we are looking for more employees to grow our product range and secure the solid implementation of our projects.We are now looking for a System Engineer Trainee who wants to join our System Integration team. System Integration is the “glue” between different disciplines and shall ensure that everything in the project is integrated to a functional and secure system.What will you be doing?Our trainee program gives you the opportunity to work alongside our best and brightest engineers to develop your technical and professional skills and kick-start your career. You will explore three different work rotations and participate in various professional development initiatives to learn new skills and develop yourself personally and professionally. During the 18-month trainee period you will participate in a rotational program through three different hydropower departments. Following the trainee program, you are guaranteed a permanent position in one of our hydropower engineering departments. The trainee period will follow the program below, which may be adjusted depending on the specific candidate:Hydropower laboratory, Trondheim: The turbine laboratory is an R&D and model test hub for our Kværner turbines. As a trainee you will develop your insight into hydropower systems, and likely be involved in the execution of a specific turbine model test.Hydropower Controls, Bryn: The department consists of engineers delivering in customer and R&D projects involving control systems & EBOP, excitation systems and turbine governors. As a trainee you will be trained and work on customer projects for control systems or turbine governors.System integration, Bryn: The last rotation will be in our system integration department. As a trainee you will be trained and work on project deliveries and analysis to some of our electro-mechanical projects.In one or more of the projects you will be involved in, you are expected to follow the project at site during installation and/or commissioning.We think you should have:We are looking for Graduates 2024 with less than one year work experience.
