This is a central and exciting sales role in an established, international and well-reputed company with headquarters in Bergen, Norway.Vestdavit is developing positively, the order backlog is solid, and we expect significant growth in turnover in the coming years. We have sales offices in several countries, and in 2020 we took over the factory in Poland that produces davits for us. The sales team in Bergen is a strong and well-oiled machine. We are now strengthening the organisation with an Area Sales Manager responsible for maintaining and increasing sales in a dedicated territory/countries.We are looking for candidates with sales experience toward maritime industry or similar. Preferably with either a degree in engineering (master’s or bachelor’s), Naval Academy background, or a commercial education combined with good technical insight.Ideally you have at least 2-5 years of relevant experience with good results from a similar role (B2B) from an international environment with English as the working language. It will be an advantage if you have worked with public tender sales.Areas of responsibilitySales and development of market potential and customer relations.Develop effective and good cooperation with customers.Utilize the company's sales support systems for control and professional follow-up of customers.Monitor and understand the market and competitors.Carry out one's work tasks in a way that contributes to the company achieving its quality objectives.Important tasksVisit customers and present Vestdavit and our products in a professional manner.Prepare offers with specifications, technical basis and product calculation, follow up on the offers, negotiate with customers until a contract is concluded.Participate in fairs and represent the company at home and abroad.Kick-off and handover of the project to the technical team.Contribute to product improvements, standardization and optimization.Contribute to quality assurance and use of the company's QA tools.From time to time, the Sales Director may request that other tasks be completed.Contribute to the development of the sales strategy in the company and share knowledge with colleagues.Follow up leads and involve relevant key people to secure new business for Vestdavit.Obtain needs/feedback from new and existing customers and together with the technical department and contribute to this being translated into product development and improvement.An important reason for Vestdavit's success is our sales team, which is unusually well composed with complementary backgrounds, experiences and personal qualities.
