The cooperative societies collectively own the umbrella organization, Coop Norge SA, which is responsible for Coop's joint procurement, wholesale and logistics operations, chain management, brand-building, and membership program.We are currently looking for a Senior Data Scientist who wants to act as a mentor and technical referent within the team! In this role, you will be essential in building and developing new models and services to solve complex business problems by applying machine learning and other advanced analytics methods. As part of the tech environment in Data & Analysis, you will work closely with other Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Software Developers. We are seeking someone who is motivated to contribute to one of Coop Norge's key areas of focus going forward. We believe your day-to-day will look somewhat like this:Working with Advanced Analytics for different parts of the organization. Leveraging sophisticated analytical methods on Coop’s large datasets e.g., transactions from more than 2 million members, event data from our customer-facing solutions such as the popular Coop app, customer data, and logistics data.Addressing questions such as: what happened, why did it happen, what is likely to happen, and how we can make it happen.Acting as a mentor and technical referent on all data science questions and problems.Creating views and dashboards using e.g. dbt, Google Cloud BigQuery, LookerStudio, and Streamlit.Developing and continuously improving AI services such as recommendation systems to personalize customer experiences, demand forecasts for supply chain management, and optimization of logistics operations.Contributing to AI solutions with the potential for significant impact, not only on revenue and customer experience but also on the environment by reducing food waste.Playing a vital role in shaping Coop's data and analytics community, where you'll contribute to defining our guidelines and work methods.Actively contribute to fostering a modern data culture within Coop and strengthen our data-driven organization.To succeed in this role, you will need to have:5+ years of relevant experience within data scienceExperience in core analytics methods and various Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling, Optimization and Predictive ModellingSolid knowledge of Python and SQL (BigQuery)Knowledge in statistics, such as statistical testing.Hands-on experience with a broad base of Python data science libraries and frameworks (e.g. Pandas, PySpark, Tensorflow, Keras, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Prophet etc.)Experience with POSIX shell scripting, git, cloud solutions (GCP, Azure), container technologies (Docker), and dbt.Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical resourcesAbility to show initiative, work independently, and be self-drivenBeing motivated by delivering value to end users. Participating in continual change.Experience with agile methodology and DevOps/MLOps.Experience with implementing and monitoring machine learning systems in production.Can effectively communicate complex analyses and findings to team members and others in the organization.
